Some cakes over the past couple of months

I've been MIA for a while, all for good reason.  Had another baby in November and then moved to a new state right after Christmas.  I made a couple of cakes during my  pregnancy, but haven't gotten around to posting them so here they are!

My 2nd son's 1st birthday cake!

Gender reveal cake!  This was so fun to make.  My friend had the ultrasound technician put the gender of her baby in an envelope and dropped it off at my house with a bag of blue and pink M&Ms.  She wanted me to fill the center of the cake with whatever color of M&Ms for the baby, and had a gender reveal party.  I was the only one who knew they were having a boy until the cake was cut!  It was such a special way to find out and I am so happy she asked me to make her cake.

Disney Princess Cake

I made this a while ago and just never got around to blogging about it because I had a baby and then have just been living very crazy and tiring life of a SAHM of 2u2.  But finally here is the Disney Pricness Birthday cake.  Made this cake for our friends Karen & Dave's little girl's 2nd birthday.  Karen sent me some pictures for inspiration and this is what I came up with.  Before you even ask, yes, the brick or stone, whatever you want to call it, is all done by hand one at a time.  I know there forms and tools to make brick work very, very easy, but this is something that I tried out for a castle cake and really loved the way it looked, so I decided to do it again for the princess castle.  It takes way too long to do, but again, I just love the way it looks!

Another Harley Birthday Cake!

I love making repeat cakes!  Why?  Because I've already made it so I know what mistakes to avoid and how to time out my plan properly, which is incredibly important when you have a toddler to chase around while working on a cake.  This cake was for my new sister-in-law's dad.  His birthday was the day of my brother & her wedding, so they asked me to make a special birthday cake for him to have the night of the rehearsal dinner.

Mickey Mouse Cake!

Happy 1st Birthday Chase!  The Mickey hat at the top of the cake is Chase's smash cake!

Winter ONEderland Snowman Cake!

Happy 1st Birthday Eric!  What a perfect theme for a snowy birthday party.  Snowman is made out of rice crispies and the little snowman cake is baby Eric's smash cake.

Happy Birthday!

Ginger Cake!  Made this for my SIL's 30th Birthday.  It's made to look like her labordoodle Ginger.

This is the first birthday cake I made my husband.  He's a Harley guy.

And the 2nd birthday cake I made my husband.  I don't remember where we got the idea to make a peanut butter & jelly sandwich but I made one.

Coach purse cake.

My husband's 30th birthday cake.  This is probably my favorite.
